Although there is a lot happening right now with the exchange of information on tax havens with the OECD, how might it affect you?
For more information on how you might be affected take a look at which jurisdictions have substantially implemented the internationally agreed tax standard. Many jurisdictions have committed but have not actually done any substantial implementation. Some of the offshore tax jurisdictions that have yet to substantially implement the international tax standards include: Belize and St. Kitts and Nevis. The last three countries that have yet to implement a tax standard are Costa Rica, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
A useful report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is here: “A PROGRESS REPORT ON THE JURISDICTIONS SURVEYED BY THE OECD GLOBAL FORUM IN IMPLEMENTING THE INTERNATIONALLY AGREED TAX STANDARD”
Another excellent report to follow is the “OVERVIEW OF THE OECD’S WORK ON INTERNATIONAL TAX EVASION” which has an annex that lists “TIEAS SIGNED BETWEEN OECD MEMBER STATES AND COMMITTED JURISDICTIONS”.
